Andy Pettitte throws a complete game in final start
Coming into last night's game against the Astros, both teams were eliminated. Mariano Rivera had played his final game, and the Yankees were finishing a bad season. But, Andy Pettitte threw a complete game in his final outing to win 2-1. Pettitte threw 116 pitches with only five hits and one earned run. He will finish the season at 11-11. This is important because he has never had a losing season. That is a testament to Pettitte's longevity and the fact that the Yankees will struggle to replace someone who was so consistent.
