Yankees win after long delay
The Yankees won on Monday after a 2 hour delay in the top of the 2nd inning. Phil Hughes pitched 1 and a third innings before the rain started. After the rain, David Huff pitched 5.2 innings and later got the win. Derek Jeter got 2 hits and is 2 hits from tying Eddie Collins for 9th place on the all-time hits list. The Yankees offense broke out in the 4th inning with 8 runs against Dylan Axelrod. In a pinch hit at-bat, J.R. Murphy got his first career MLB hit in his first game. The Yankees finally won the game 9-1 to continue the push to the playoffs.
